Parisian Style Shop

Something that’s really cool about Europe in general is that the cities tend to be pretty old and have been standing for a really long time. (I think I just outed myself as an American.) All the same, what this means is that it makes Google Maps a viable reference tool. Being able to simulate walking around Paris was extremely helpful and Paris has boulangeries the same way the American south has churches.

I find it intriguing how much of the city is very uniform in style, but especially the rooftops. This is apparently because Georges-Eugène Haussmann was employed by Napoleon III to modernize the city in 1853, but was subsequently let go in 1870. The work continued into the 1920s. Probably some big wars disrupted the continued work – call it a guess.

I have plans to make other buildings that would also look fitting on a Parisian boulevard.
